This megayacht once formed part of the ‘Golden Fleet’.
The mighty Golden Odyssey – a superyacht spanning a whopping 123 metres and worth €400 million – has been spotted in Malta, and this isn’t her first time visiting…
Back in November 2020, the yacht was docked in Malta for a couple of months. It seems like she loved it so much she just had to return!
The ‘Superyachtfan’ Facebook page revealed the Golden Odyssey’s arrival yesterday.
Surprisingly, this beast of a ship is not Russian owned or seized. In fact, her owner is Saudi Prince Khaled bin Sultan, son of the Crown Prince Sultan who passed away in 2011.
Khaled bin Sultan owns several luxury vessels, with his fleet earning the name “The Golden Fleet”. This includes the 80m Golden Odyssey, now renamed the Grand Ocean, and the 66.75m Golden Shadow, now known as Blue Shadow.
The fleet is said to be used for both recreation and scientific research.
Khaled bin Sultan’s Golden Odyssey is a German-registered ship built in the Luerssen shipyard in Lemwerder in 2015, and she’s rumoured to be worth a whopping €400 million.
This megayacht even made it on Boat International’s ‘top 25 largest yachts in the world’ list!
She weighs in at a massive 7,600 tonnes and features a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. The Golden Odyssey can cruise at 11 knots and reach a top speed of 21.0 kn.
As if that wasn’t enough, she’s also got five decks with amenities, including a swimming pool, a spa, a beach club, a gym, an elevator, and a helipad.
