Frank Tanti, a well-loved Maltese theatre, film, and TV actor, has sadly passed away at the age of 72.

The late actor starred in several locally shot international features, such as Agora, The Devil’s Double, and When Pigs Have Wings. He also played the roles of Vendor and Grandpa in the TV series Queen of the South and Cargo, respectively.

One of his last acting credits was the role of Lino in internationally acclaimed Maltese feature Luzzu.

Dozens of Frank’s former collaborators and colleagues took to social media to pay tribute to his memory.

“Farewell to a mentor, scholar, and educator. You were the one who helped me start appreciating and learning theatre and television… Adieu Frank, until next time,” Frank Vella wrote.

“Rest in peace, Frank. You were the first person to give me a major role on a national level. We worked together, ran around in your van full to the brim with props, and even had our fair share of argument. God knows how many young people you trained in theatre and how many sets you built. Rest in peace and send our regards to all the others,” added Alan Fenech.

Rest in peace, Frank!
