Rescue mission! Wildlife Rescue Team Malta saves turtle Enza from tangled ropes
Her flipper was severely damaged

Francesca Vella

The local Wildlife Rescue Team has shared some heartbreaking photos of the turtle they’ve named Enza, their newest ward rescued earlier today.

Enza was spotted floating and struggling while her front left flipper was caught in tangled nylon ropes. The passerby who spotted her contacted the Rescue Team via their emergency line, who turned up at the scene.

A quick initial assessment revealed that Enza’s flipper has sadly been severely damaged and is now being further assessed and treated by a veterinarian.

The Rescue Team reminds the public to call their emergency number 99999505 on seeing any wild animals that have been injured or are in danger, and expressed gratitude towards those who have done so in the past, leading to countless recoveries – hopefully Enza will join the list soon!

Wishing Enza a speedy recovery!
