Several measures have been put in place to ensure passengers' wellbeing with a limit imposed on the number of passengers allowed on-board as well as a daily intensive cleaning regime of the fleet. And this does not stop at surfaces, with the air in buses also purified on the regular!

So now that you are here, how do you find out which bus you need to catch to where you want to go? Easy, just download the tallinja app! Available for free for both iOS and Android phones, the app has everything you need to plan your transit: detailed schedules, maps and a real-time bus tracker to help you calculate the arrive time of buses approaching a bus stop.

Now that that is sorted, how do I pay for the journey? Simple, you can purchase the tallinja Explore Card from the ticket booth within the Malta International Airport, the Valletta terminus or most main stationeries around the islands.

This card is especially handy because it comes with unlimited trips by bus on any routes for seven consecutive days. Furthermore, its touch-and-board option (i.e. tapping the card against the electronic reader found upon boarding), makes it a convenient function, especially during Covid times!

Should you prefer to pay per trip, the company is operating under an exact-fare policy for the safety of everyone onboard and bus drivers will be not be able to give change for cash payments.

Are you ready to explore Malta's wonders?

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
