Qawra's Palm Court Hotel was left abandoned for years before being demolished last year
Apartments and penthouses have been built instead of the hotel.

Referred to as one of Malta's largest holidays at the turn of the millenium, Qawra's three-star Palm Court Hotel is remembered for its no-frills service but many Maltese employed within the establishment reminisce the time spent there.

The exact date of the hotel's closure is not publicly known, however it was left abandoned for close to ten years before being demolished last year. Instead, 100 apartments and penthouses were erected in its place.

According to Urbex Malta, the abandoned hotel was being used as a cat shelter prior to its demolition. A series of photos detailing the hotel's decaying condition in April 2018 were shared online. Have a last look at the Palm Court Hotel below:

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
