Pub crawl time y’all! 6 top spots to grab a drink in the Three Cities
Get your drink and culture on!

Kristina Cassar Dowling

There’s always time for a good old pub crawl, but instead of heading to the regular Paceville, Bugibba or Valletta, we thought of highlighting The Three Cities. The Three Cities are full of cultural and historical artefacts, architecture and paintings that instantly draw in the tourists and locals alike - but have you ever thought of the area as a booze pumpin’ area? Here are 8 awesome spots to grab a drink or two!

Hammett’s Macina Restaurant, Senglea

While most spots in The Three Cities serve food as well as drinks, places like Hammett’s Macina is the ideal place if you’re looking for a fine dining option or drinks that would classify as finer choices. There’s quite the wine list to choose from and of course the rest of the standard drink options, but the best part of all this is definitely the view.

Café du Brazil, Birgu

Café du Brazil is one of the typical Three Cities joints you need to try. It’s quiet and simple with affordable drinks and even a quick bite to eat when the booze starts to hit you. Why not enjoy a beer or two with your mates as you wait for the rest of the crew to join in on the night’s events?

Café Riche, Birgu

Café Riche is an old school that was built in 1933 and today acts as an entertainment area for the fun-loving characters who hit the Three Cities. Treat yourself to a few cocktails and enjoy the simplicities of life with the courtyard presenting the perfect setting.

Old City Pub, Birgu

Once the first couple of bars have been ticked off your list, and the alcohol is rather present in your system, it might be a good time to add some fuel to the mix. How does a couple bottles of beer and a traditional fenkata sound? Order before your visit to Old City Pub to avoid disappointment - this is gonna be a good night!

Tal-Petut, Birgu

Alternatively, you can try Tal-Petut where the night can (almost) come to an end with specifically prepared dishes for every client and a choice of drinks that will make your night one to remember. There’s the mix of innovative food paired with some good wine, fantastic company and a very pleasant environment. All done for the night…

Nuovo Café San Giorgio, Cospicua

Well, maybe one last stop before you hail the next taxi. Nuovo Café San Giorgio is the ideal place to grab your last tipple, a digestive that will wash the sins away, while slowly, but surely, the effects of the night are creeping in - maybe order an espresso and bottle of water to perk yourself up a little?

The Three Cities are made for fun, culture, entertainment or a spot of binge drinking. Who's to judge? Know your limits, never drink and drive and, of course, have an absolutely smashing time. Cheers!
