During a televised interview earlier this morning, Prime Minister Dr Robert Abela revealed his plans to introduce a revision of COVID-19 fines.

"The absolute minority of fines given came from hard-headedness," he revealed: "Most were genuine cases which I saw with my own eyes."

Illustrating this with an example, the Prime Minister continued to back this up with some examples of people getting fined while buying vegetables or while buying flowers outside of the cemetery on Mother's Day.

"It is my wish to immediately introduce a mechanism with which to consider granting an amnesty for fines given in the past months. Those fined are not criminals," Prime Minister Robert Abela said. Elaborating further, those who already paid for the fines may apply for a refund.
