Planning a trip to Golden Bay? Here are the bus route changes you need to know about
These changes are in effect from Wednesday 11th June till Saturday 14th June.
If you’re heading to Golden Bay over the next few days, take note: temporary route changes will be in effect due to ongoing roadworks in the area.
From Wednesday 11th June (today) to Saturday 14th June, several public transport routes will be adjusted or diverted, and shuttle services will be provided to help ease access to this popular beach destination.
Here’s what you need to know:
Route changes
- Route 101 will still serve Golden Bay, with its stop relocated to the Radisson roundabout.
- Route 44 will now terminate in Mġarr instead of Golden Bay.
- Routes 223 and 225 will end in Xemxija, rather than continuing to Golden Bay.
Shuttle services
To help passengers reach their final destination with minimal disruption, Transport Malta will be operating two dedicated shuttle services:
- A shuttle between Mġarr and Golden Bay, running every 20 minutes from 6am to 10pm.
- A shuttle between Mġarr and Xemxija, also every 20 minutes from 6am to 10pm.
Whether you're planning a day in the sun or commuting through the area to get to Cirkewwa or Xemxija, it's best to plan ahead and account for possible delays. For real-time updates and bus tracking, check the official Malta Public Transport app or website.
Stay safe and travel smart!
