It’s all happening on the 7th of April from 9am to 5pm.
Discover the enchanting allure of Roman Malta and delve into the wonders of the natural world this Sunday, 7th April, as Heritage Malta beckons you to a day of exploration.
Step into history at the Domvs Romana in Rabat, immerse yourself in the thrilling displays of the National Museum of Natural History in Mdina and then head fascinating site of the St Paul's Catacombs, all free of charge.
At the Domvs Romana, get ready to journey into the opulent lifestyle of the ancient Roman aristocracy through exquisite mosaics and artefacts. Marvel at the only private house exhibiting marble statues of Emperor Claudius and his family, offering a rare glimpse into Roman domestic life.
A stroll away, St Paul’s Catacombs’ interconnected passages and tombs usher visitors into the world of the dead. This fascinating site is, in fact, part of the largest necropolis outside of the ancient town of Melite and was in use from the Punic period all the way up to Byzantine times. It features varied cultures and religions, with Pagan, Jewish and Christian burials found within the same cemetery. All children visiting this site will receive a small gift.
Meanwhile, in the historic Vilhena Palace in Mdina, the National Museum of Natural History awaits, showcasing a diverse array of natural wonders.
From a 4000-year-old mummified Nile crocodile to the fossilised remains of ancient sea creatures, the museum promises an interesting exploration of our planet's rich biodiversity.
