OMG! You won’t believe the size of these platters in Valletta
The mad platter!

Nicole Parnis

It might be called The Little Red Door, but the platters served up at this Valletta wine bar are anything but small!

With over 45 cheeses and 15 cold cuts to choose from, The Little Red Door take their platters very seriously! Diners can choose to make up their own platters or leave it up to the dedicated chefs to surprise them with a spread to make your eyes water.

The wine bar has always focused on platters, although they do serve up some mouth-watering fresh pasta dishes and awesome canapés if requested in advance. But their meat and cheese spreads take the biscuit (or should that be galletta?). They’ve recently taken things up more than a notch with their 1.7 meter platters!

“They’ve been very well received” says part-owner Dorian Flores. “We had to get the platter boards specially made by a local carpenter!” he tells Guide Me Malta. Wow!

Guests of the intimate restaurant can choose from a large list of wines and spirits, and if you’re a whiskey lover, you’ll be delighted to know that they serve up 80 of them, including some special, hard to find varieties.

Situated in Valletta’s St Dominic Street, The Little Red Door also hosts some live music acts on occasion, so you’re bound to have a great night out in the capital. We know where we’re going next time we fancy a cosy, cultured night out on the town!
