Oh wow! Second loggerhead turtle nests in the Maltese Islands, this time at Golden Bay
This is brill news!

Caroline Curmi

A second loggerhead turtle has nested in the Maltese Islands, less than two months after another loggerhead nested at Gozo's Ramla Bay.

The news was confirmed late yesterday afternoon by Nature Trust - FEE Malta, who thanked a number of volunteers who assisted them in their venture as well as a nearby aquasports establishment for: "let[ting] us check the CCTV footage to locate the nest."

With the organisation guarding and monitoring two turtle nests, the NGO is urgently appealing for more volunteers to come forward. Should you be interested in a spot of turtle nest watching, please send an email to [email protected].
