It’s a sad time for celiacs and people who follow a gluten-free diet. After three wonderful years, Damiano’s Dessert Malta, a popular gluten-free café, has sadly closed its doors. The café, known for its wide selection of gluten-free desserts, had become a haven for individuals with dietary restrictions and a favorite spot for dessert enthusiasts.

In a heartfelt announcement shared on Facebook, the owners expressed their gratitude to their loyal patrons:

‘It is with great regret that we inform our customers that the shop in Gżira is closed. We thank everyone for choosing us in these three beautiful years. Hoping to see you again in the future with other projects, we say to you with all our heart: thank you, thank you and thank you again.’

The closure prompted an outpouring of support from fans, many of whom shared their disappointment in the comments. Regular customers thanked the café for its delicious offerings and warm hospitality, expressing hopes that the closure might be temporary.

The café owners have been overwhelmed by the response, explaining that the flood of heartfelt messages has been deeply moving.

‘We are immensely moved by the many messages of affection that we have received. All this fills us with joy and sadness at the same time. We have worked so hard in these years to be able to do a good job. Having made so many people happy is the greatest satisfaction that we will always carry in our hearts.’

Damiano’s Dessert Malta was cherished not only for its delicious gluten-free treats but also for the warm, inviting atmosphere it provided to anyone who visited.

For now, loyal customers will cherish the sweet memories they made at this much-loved Gżira café.

Will you miss Damiano’s delightful desserts?
