Off she goes! Rescued hedgehog Lynn returns back to the wild in Gozo
How cute!

Emma Galea

The Gozo branch of Nature Trust have released Lynn, the hedgehog back into the wild after she made a full recovery.

She was released back in the area where she was found so she has a better chance of survival.

The little hedgehog was found almost drowned in a bowl of water in Xewkija. When she was found she was a still a tiny little hoglet with no sight of her mother. She was therefore released now that she is fully grown and can fend for herself.

Lynn returned back to her home right as the sun was setting as hedgehogs are nocturnal. In fact, if you ever spot a hedgehog when it is still light, chances are that there is something wrong with them.

In this case, please call Wildlife Rescue team Malta so they can provide the animal with the needed assistance.
