Number two! Malta welcomes its second turtle nest of the season at Għadira
An amazing start to the season!

This morning brought a wave of excitement for nature lovers – the second one this week – as Wildlife Rescue Team Malta announced the discovery of the second turtle nest of the season!

During a routine early morning patrol, volunteers spotted the markings of two turtle crawls on Għadira’s middle beach. Acting quickly, the team notified officials from ERA – the Environment & Resources Authority, who joined them on-site. Together, the two teams confirmed the presence of a nesting chamber.

The Wildlife Rescue Team thanked Claudia and Tom, whose sharp eyes and dedication made this discovery possible, and ERA for their rapid response and continued support.

Interested in getting involved? Volunteers are always welcome! If you’d like to contribute to turtle conservation efforts, simply send an email to [email protected] for more information.

Here's to many more nests to come!
