Health Minister Chris Fearne has just revealed that children under the age of 12 will no longer need to present a negative PCR test upon arriving in Malta.

The relaxation of said measure will come into effect on Monday 6th June.

Minister Fearne announced the news in parliament earlier today, where he also noted that social distancing will no longer be mandatory at childcare centres from 6th June.

A series of COVID-19 restrictions related to travel, mask-wearing, and quarantine have been relaxed this month.

Today, Malta registered 110 new COVID-19 cases and 157 recoveries, bringing the country’s total number of active cases down to 2,234.

One COVID-19 patient passed away in the past 24 hours. This means that Malta’s COVID-19 death toll now stands at 714.
