Every Maltese child’s memories are filled with crunchy goodness of at least one of these glorious Maltese snacks. Do yourself a favour: if you’re on the island for the first time or you simply haven’t tried these snacks, buy them all and FEAST! (Tried and tested by this foodie).

1. Twistees

A legend in the Maltese snack packs world, Twistees are, possibly, the island’s most popular snacks that comes in four different flavours including cheesy, chicken, smokey barbecue and cheesy low fat and salt.

2. Krips

Another popular snack pack is Krips. Now while I’m not the biggest fan of the salt and vinegar flavour, this is the BOMB. And the taste lingers on your buds and it’s divine.

3. Chimpeys

These were a personal childhood favourite. You can find me in the corner devouring this glorious peanut packet.

4. Gobblers

Another childhood throwback is Gobblers. The cylinder-shaped crisps would just sizzle on your tongue until you bite firmly through, creating that crunch that sends a chill down your spine. #Talkdirtytome

5. Crisps

The classic snack pack that everyone loves. Potatoe chips with a bit (ok, a lot) of salt. A fairly traditional pack yet hits all the right taste buds!

6. Sour Cream & Onion

The curly snacks that left little green remnants on our fingers were another childhood favourite, especially in my household. The tangy snack pack is absolutely delish, guaranteeing a finger licking sesh after you’re done.

7. Mini Bites

Mini bites are one of Sunshine Snacks’ newer creations and boy, are we thankful! They come in smoked bacon (that actually tastes like Maltese sausage), cheese and onion and curry flavours. #Divine.

8. Tortilla chips

Plain and simple, but sometimes that’s what we crave! Choose from cheese and onion or ready salted and just sit back, relax, and enjoy the crunch!

9. Spiros

Another new creation and one of the best on the block, in my humble snack pack lover opinion. The paprika flavour really gives the snack pack a kick!

10. Krupuk

The Oriental crisps may be weird, but they are incredible and bursting with flavour. They’ll definitely tickle those taste buds, especially if you’re cravings something crunchy!
