Msida like you’ve never seen it before! Check out these 150-year-old photos
The Msida Marina was originally built in the late 18th century by the British.

In these spectacular photos shared by Frank O’neill, one can see what the Msida marina once looked back in the 1870s. The village looks almost unrecognisable.

The 150-year-old shot captures a scene that can no longer be found anywhere in Malta.

Many know the Msida marina for its never-ending yachts and boats all docked around the pier but in these old photos one can instead see wooden built ships that still used sails instead of a motor. That’s how old the photo is!

In fact, nobody alive today can even remember the busy village ever looking like this.

The first photo also shows Manoel Island and the star fort built by the Grand Master Antonio Manoel de Vilhena back in 1723, a fort which is still there to this day. I guess at least somethings never change!
