Staff at Valletta restaurant Beati Paoli were left stunned when they found out just how much money a particular customer had tipped.

A receipt shared by the restaurant shows that the customer tipped a whopping €1,200 – almost 13 times the value of his €94.50 meal.

“Your kindness and appreciation mean far more to us than words can adequately express,” the restaurant said.

"Gestures like yours inspire and motivate our entire team to continue providing the best possible experience to our guests.”
