They roamed around the gorgeous streets of the city, taking it all in.
Another fantastic mention for Malta! Our tiny island is attracting waves of attention as this year’s European Capital of Culture. An article on Go Europe describes the gem that is Valletta, taking its readers on a tour of Valletta’s “renovated Baroque architecture combined with modern design.”
Obviously, “Malta’s dramatic history as a base for medieval knights and modern-day navies” is mentioned, represented through the numerous museums, restaurants, bars and boutique hotels that stand today.
Go Europe also visited the recently-renovated Suq tal-Belt, the food market that has everyone raving. Naturally, they couldn’t resist trying out some local specialities like pastizzi, ftira, and torta tal-lampuki.
The performing arts scene was also noted, with Go Europe taking a trip to the Blitz atelier and various galleries, and heading over to Teatru Manoel, the famed theatre that hosts a wealth of performances each year.
Go Europe also plunged into Valletta’s nightlife by heading to Strait Street, the city’s former red-light district, which is now inundated with upscale bars and restaurants, and a wide variety of live performances.
