Luxury bites! Malta’s finest dining spots, according to the world’s ultra-rich
Fast-food restaurants actually dominated the leader board for the most transactions

Ten of Malta’s top restaurants made a serious impression with the ultra-rich, racking up nearly a third of their total dining spend, according to figures from the luxury lifestyle management group Insignia.

Insignia also offers credit card and concierge services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals (think €40 million a year or more!) and revealed that its clients spent close to €204,000 dining out in Malta in 2023, with over 1,865 transactions spread across more than 400 restaurants.

Beefbar took the prime spot, a swanky international brand with locations in Bugibba and Valletta, with approximately 6% of the total spend. The other top spots, in order, were Caviar and Bull, Port 21, Sciacca Grill, San Giuliano, Phoenicia Hotel, Portopalo Restaurant, Manta, Lore & Fitch, and Medasia - together accounting for 29% of what Insignia's clients splurged on meals in 2023.

However, when it comes to sheer number of transactions, fast-food spots actually took the crown! Dr Juice led the pack, followed by Sphinx Pastizzeria, Drift Meze, Eeetwell, and McDonald’s, each logging over 30 transactions with Insignia cardholders.

Earlier this year, Insignia also revealed their clients' favourite hotels in Malta, with The Hilton, Rosselli, The Phoenicia, Iniala Harbour House, and the Westin Dragonara topping the list since 2016.

Did your favourite spot make the list?
