Janet Walker, who lost her Guardamangia (Pieta) home in 2019 in a collapse, is speaking out about this morning’s incident in Bormla, where a construction site worker lost his life.

“Chills and anger like never before,” she shares on Facebook this morning. “This cannot go on! It cannot be that for YOU to become RICH or arrange your property, you kill people,” she emotionally shares. “You should be ashamed of yourselves! Hundreds of people are scared every day and they should be! Don’t trust anyone! Condolences to the family of the victim.”

Ms Walker shares her harrowing experience and tries to raise awareness on the issue in the hopes of this never happening again after the part of the apartment block she was living in collapsed. In a video posted last year after the incident, she is heard saying, “They managed. The building collapsed, they told us they were safe. We’re waiting for the rest of it to come down.”
