Impressive numbers! 2,975,670 tourists visited Malta in 2023

In a recently published study by Malta’s National Statistics Office, it was discovered that a total of 2,975,670 tourists visited Malta in 2023.

This was a 30.1% increase when compared to 2022.

A whopping 20.2 million nights were spent in Malta and Gozo’s accommodation from inbound tourists during this past year.

The total tourism expenditure for the whole year of 2023 was estimated to be around €2.7 billion, while expenditure per capita stood at €898.

The largest number of tourists that came to Malta were part of the 25-44 age group.

With a total of 547,991 visitors, Italian residents took the top sport for the largest number of tourists from one country that visited Malta. The UK followed closely behind with a total of 539,131 tourists.
