A new ferry service connecting Sliema to Gozo, with a stop in Buġibba, is expected to be announced in the coming days, according to a report in the Times of Malta.
The new route promises to improve connectivity between the islands, while offering an alternative to road transport – especially welcome during the busy summer season!
While full details have yet to be revealed, including the schedule, travel time, and start date, the new ferry line forms part of a broader national transport strategy aimed at making better use of Malta’s natural harbours and encouraging sea-based commuting.
The Sliema–Buġibba–Gozo route could prove especially popular among commuters, day trippers, and tourists looking for a more scenic and stress-free journey between some of the islands’ most visited spots.
Stay tuned for more updates as the official launch approaches!
