Heads up! Standstill traffic in Marsa-Hamrun bypass & Msida due to a bad accident
Yikes…

If you haven’t left home yet and were thinking of passing through the Marsa-Hamrun, Santa Venera, and Msida areas, better plan an alternative route as there’s currently insane standstill traffic.

A bad accident has occurred that has caused the Marsa-Hamrun bypass and Msida (towards the Santa Venera tunnels) to be chock-a-block with traffic. “Most traffic is currently being diverted to Hamrun & Santa Venera. Very few cars, vans and SUVs are being let through to St. Venera tunnel,” Maltese Roads Traffic Updates shared on Facebook. According to comments on the posts, it seems that a car has tipped over.

“Trucks and other heavy vehicles are diverting to Hamrun. Slip road leading out to regional road from St. Venera area is closed for traffic as well. Traffic starts from Kappara.” Yikes! In other photos, heavy traffic can also be seen on the Marsa-Hamrun bypass towards the tunnels.
