In a recent interview with ‘The People of Malta’, the cousins taking care of an almost 100-year ironmongery business have revealed they’re retiring and closing down their shop.

Ta’ Cikku’s ironmongery has been open since 1928 and for the past 94 years this iconic Haz-Zabbar staple has been offering impeccable service to all those that needed it.

The cousins reminisced in how the shop was originally opened by their grandfather Cikku before it passed down to their uncles and then on to them.

A family business through and through!

“This is where we’ve spent our lives. Even as young boys, we used to come here and run around”, they shared during the interview.

“We strive to serve the customers as best as we can. Don’t try to cheat them. Be honest and they will come back”, they advised.

“This place has become a part of our lives. But it is time to close the doors of this business”

Many soon flooded the comments thanking them for their incredible service and went on to wish them a happy retirement!

A well-deserved retirement without a doubt!
