Gozitan shares council’s ‘answer to road repair’ in one of the island’s worst areas
“They’ve been ‘repairing’ it like this for 15 years now.”

A Gozitan has shared photos showing the appalling state of the coastal road Triq Santa Marija in Gozo (which has been known to be quite the crater-styled road). If you’ve ever passed through the Marsalforn and Qbajjar area, then you (and your car) know exactly what we’re talking about.

“Zebbug Council’s answer to road repair,” says Gail Hooper, showing photos of filled up potholes in the disastrous road as opposed to new surfacing. “They’ve been ‘repairing’ it like this for 15 years now,” she shared in the comments section, to which another Facebook user replied, “it is one of the worst bits of road on the island.”

“People have been hurt falling in the potholes. The road is practically unusable, and vehicles are being damaged too. This is deemed acceptable by the local council,” she continues. “I’m pretty sure it was one of those potholes that destroyed my tyre yesterday, they are so deep they damage cars,” another local concurred.
