Gorgeous! Gozo’s diocese gains new coat of arms
Our sister island has a new coat of arms!

Kim Vella

The Diocese of Gozo – a Latin bishopric of the Catholic Church in Malta – has finally been bestowed with its very own coat of arms.

Gozo coat of arms

Prior to this, the Diocese would adopt the coat of arms of the standing bishop, meaning that it would change with every new occupant.

The new, unique coat of arms, based on the original idea of Fr Roberto Gauci, came to be thanks to the efforts of the Gozo Bishop Secretariat and the Curia

The coat of arms is made up of two main elements – the three hills rising from the sea, depicting Gozo, and the crowned lion standing on a globe.

Way to go, Gozo!
