Golden skies! Spectacular sunrises and showers close 2025 in Malta
These sunrises are made more special by the changing weather patterns unfolding.

As 2025 draws to a close, the final mornings of the year are delivering some truly breathtaking scenes at sunrise. Maltese Islands Weather’s Facebook page posted a few breathtaking photos of early risers being rewarded with glowing horizons painted in warm shades of gold, pink, and orange - moments that feel both peaceful and celebratory as the year winds down.

These striking sunrises are being made even more special by the changing weather patterns unfolding overhead.

Forecasts in recent days have consistently mentioned isolated showers, and those predictions have proven accurate. Rather than widespread rainfall, brief and localised showers have been popping up in just a handful of areas at any given time.

For many, the clearest evidence has been the appearance of rainbows, arching across the sky shortly after sunrise and adding a magical touch to the morning commute.

This pattern is expected to continue, with further isolated showers likely through to dawn on New Year’s Day. While some localities may experience a passing shower, others will remain dry, enjoying crisp air and vivid skies.

It’s a fitting way to close out the year; dynamic, beautiful, and a reminder of nature’s ability to surprise us.

Whether greeted by sunshine, rain, or a rainbow, these final mornings of 2025 are certainly leaving a lasting impression.

Are you looking forward to the start of 2026?
