It’s the second day of the COJI small island games in Mallorca, and the young Maltese athletes aren’t holding back!

After competing with impressive results on the first day, ending with gold, silver, and bronze medals, Maltese representatives keep making us proud.

A whopping three golds were obtained by swimmers; Julienne Woods (200m freestyle), Sophia Allen (50m breaststroke), and Matthew Satariano (50m breaststroke).

Kareem Chouhal, who scored bronze and silver on the first day, has now got gold in the discus event.

Having started just two days ago, Malta had already won 19 medals!

The COJI island games, also known as the ‘Jeux des îles’ is an annual sporting event where youth athletes from 23 member countries, specifically from European islands, compete for a place on the podium in vast range of sports.

Every year since 2004 Malta has sent up varied athletes to compete in differently fields namely, gymnastics, sailing, athletics, table tennis and swimming.

How many medals do you think these Maltese athletes will bring home?
