The Maltese Islands are set for another hot week, although we might get a brief break from the summer sunshine on Wednesday, when there is a chance of isolated rain showers.

According to the latest six-day forecast published by Maltese Islands Weather, Tuesday will remain partly cloudy and hot, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 34°C and a minimum of 27°C. There is a 25% chance of rain, although no rainfall is currently expected.

Wednesday is expected to be the most unsettled day of the week. Maltese Islands Weather is forecasting a chance of isolated showers, with a 35% risk of rain and a predicted rainfall amount of between 0.2mm and 1mm. Temperatures will remain high, reaching 34°C during the day and dropping to around 27°C overnight.

The showers are expected to be isolated rather than widespread, meaning that while some areas could see a brief spell of rain, others may remain dry. The Malta Meteorological Office's forecast also currently indicates isolated showers for Wednesday, with a high of 32°C.

By Thursday, the weather is expected to settle once again, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures reaching 32°C. The chance of rain drops to 25%, with no significant rainfall currently forecast.

The sunshine then returns in full force. Friday is expected to be sunny with a high of 33°C, while temperatures are forecast to climb to 35°C on Saturday. Sunday looks set to be the hottest day of the forecast period, with temperatures reaching 37°C and a real-feel temperature of up to 41°C.

With the UV index at 9 throughout the forecast period, plenty of sunshine protection will still be needed.

For now, Wednesday's isolated showers look set to be only a brief interruption to another hot and predominantly sunny Maltese summer week.
