Għana, jazz and more! Festivals Malta launches jam-packed summer schedule
Four festivals confirmed for this summer, featuring local and international talent

There will be plenty of cultural events on offer in Malta this summer! Festivals Malta has just launched its cultural programme for the next few months and it’s a jam-packed schedule of four festivals packed with local and international talent.

It will kick off with Festgħana between 21st and 24th May, providing a platform for folk singers and aiming to connect people to traditional Maltese għana. Under the artistic direction of Toni Sant, several renowned għannejja will participate, alongside the Aurora Folk Group, the Baltic Sisters and Kevin Borg.

The Malta International Arts festival will return between 12th and 21st June, offering a platform to several types of arts – including visual art, theatre, dance and contemporary and classical music. Under the direction of Ruben Zahra, the festival will feature performances by local and international artists and some interesting collaborations.

The Malta Jazz Festival will return in July under the artistic direction of Sandro Zerafa who pledged to blend both the popular and eclectic elements of jazz music, in what promises to be an absolute treat for jazz lovers.

International jazz artists Kurt Rosenwinkel, Toninho Horta and Ghost-Note have all been confirmed for the festival.

Finally, Dance Festival Malta will take place between 23rd and 26th July under the artistic direction of Francesca Tranter. This festival will include several performances and masterclasses by local and international dancers, in an attempt to unite the dance community
