Fun day out! Kordin’s pre-historic temples are opening for ONE DAY ONLY this month
There will be four tours in all.
Kordin III – a lesser-known prehistoric gem in Paola – will be opening its doors to the public for one day this month!
This site consists of the only surviving megalithic remains that were discovered in the area throughout the past two centuries.
Unlike its neighbouring sites, the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum and the Tarxien Prehistoric Complex, Kordin III isn’t usually open to the public.
However, Heritage Malta will be offering guided tours of the site on Sunday 15th May – and believe us when we say you don’t want to miss this.

Four guided tours will be held in total: two in Maltese (at 9am and 10:30am) and two in English (at 9:45am and 11:15am). Tickets will only set you back €3!
Pre-booking to the event is open and can be done right here or at any Heritage Malta site or museum. Places are limited, so make sure to get your hands on a ticket whilst they’re still available.
The megalithic remains at Kordin III are intrinsically associated with the Grand Harbour. The area must have been rather significant in the prehistory due to the concentration of megalithic remains discovered there in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Unfortunately for us, most of these finds have disappeared over the years due to military, and later industrial, development in the area – but Kordin III is still standing strong.
This exciting prehistoric gem was constructed over various phases of the Neolithic and consists of a series of megalithic buildings. It includes a unique paved forecourt and other features which are intriguingly not found in other contemporary Neolithic buildings.
A perfect Sunday day out!
