Flying high! KM Malta Airlines earns prestigious APEX Four Star™ Major Airline award
This achievement places the national airline among the Top 100 airlines in the world.
KM Malta Airlines is flying high after being named one of the world’s top carriers, having received the 2026 APEX Four Star™ Major Airline award – a distinction based entirely on verified passenger feedback.
Presented by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), this award is among the most respected in global aviation, recognising excellence in service, comfort, and overall passenger experience.
For this year’s awards, more than one million verified flights were rated by passengers across over 600 airlines worldwide, using a neutral five-star scale via APEX’s partnership with the TripIt® travel app.
Also, for the 2026 awards, APEX raised its benchmarks, narrowing the field of recognition. Only the top 40 airlines worldwide (less than 7% of those rated) received the coveted APEX Five Star™ award. The Four Star™ designation, meanwhile, highlights the next 50 leading airlines globally, representing just 8% of all airlines reviewed, including KM Malta Airlines.
This achievement places the national airline among the Top 100 airlines in the world for passenger experience, alongside the top low-cost carriers and the exclusive APEX World Class™ list.
