Yesterday, news broke that beloved 15-year-old Rebecca Zammit Lupi had sadly passed away after losing her battle to an aggressive form of cancer. Tributes poured in from locals across the islands, paying homage to the sweet girl who is now dancing with the angels. Today, her father and renowned photographer, Darrin Zammit Lupi, shared details of her funeral.

“A celebration of Rebecca's life will take place at St Julian’s Parish Church (the main church) on Wednesday 6th January at 9am. Due to COVID restrictions, we sadly have to restrict the number of people who can attend, and we or close friends will be contacting people on an individual basis inviting them to attend, and asking for a prompt RSVP,” he shared minutes ago on socials.

“Masks must be worn inside the church and social distancing will have to be maintained at all times, as is currently the norm. Temperatures will also be taken upon entry and names will be checked on a list.”

Archbishop Charles Scicluna will be leading the ceremony which will be live-streamed (details to follow later today or tomorrow). “Becs loved colours, so feel free to wear colourful clothing if you so wish,” her father wrote.

Rest in peace, angel.
