Enemalta carrying out ‘urgent repairs’ following last night’s power cuts in various localities
Did your power get cut?

Many England supporters swore once or twice last night as power cuts in various localities occurred last night, precisely during the England vs the Czech Republic Euro 2020 match. According to a statement issued by Enemalta, the power cuts were caused by cable damage.

“Urgent repairs” are being carried out by Enemalta engineers and technicians following the power outages in parts of Naxxar, Mosta, Gharghar and Lija last night. Enemalta explained that parts of the localities got electricity back due to power provided by nearby sub-stations.

While the cause of the power cuts is still being investigated, Enemalta shared that it is likely that cable damage was caused due to the high temperatures Malta is currently experiencing which put pressure on the cables.

While Enemalta apologised for any inconvenience caused, they ensured that everything in their power is being done to get normal power supply back.
