A spokeswoman confirmed the news.
A dozen crew members on board the first cruise to dock in Greece after lockdown have tested positive for COVID-19, the Greek coastguard said today.
The Maltese-flagged Mein Schiff 6 is moored off the Aegean island of Milos, according to a spokeswoman who spoke to AFP. The ship is operated by TUI and has 922 passengers on board.
“They are assistant staff,” the spokeswoman said. Positive results were detected after 150 of the ship’s 666 crew members were tested. “They have been isolated on board, and we are awaiting instructions from the public health agency on where the ship is to sail.” The spokeswoman also noted that the crew members were healthy before the trip.
The Mein Schiff was the first to set sail in Greek waters following the lifting of lockdown measures.
