Colour, music & celebration! 50 Carnival activities to take place across Malta and Gozo
Around 50 Carnival-related activities will be held across various localities in Malta and Gozo during the Carnival period.
Carnival is one of Malta’s oldest and most cherished cultural traditions. During these festive days, streets and squares come alive with colour, music and celebration, bringing together families, communities and visitors, including tourists who travel to Malta specifically to experience Carnival.
These activities are set to offer varied entertainment for all ages while supporting culture, participation and unity within localities.
The Local Councils benefiting from the scheme are Ħ’Attard, Mosta, in-Naxxar, San Ġwann, San Pawl il-Baħar, l-Imtarfa, Birkirkara, Ħal Għargħur, San Ġiljan, il-Birgu, l-Isla, Bormla, Ħaż-Żabbar, il-Fgura, il-Furjana, Kalkara, Paola, Ħal Tarxien, Ħal Qormi, iż-Żejtun, Birżebbuġa, il-Gudja, Ħal Għaxaq, il-Ħamrun, Ħal Luqa, il-Marsa, Marsaxlokk, Santa Luċija, Santa Venera, is-Siġġiewi, Ħad Dingli, Ħal Kirkop, l-Imqabba, il-Qrendi, ir-Rabat Malta, Ħal Safi, iż-Żurrieq, ir-Rabat Gozo, il-Fontana, Għajnsielem, l-Għarb, l-Għasri, il-Munxar, in-Nadur, il-Qala, San Lawrenz, Ta’ Sannat, ix-Xagħra, ix-Xewkija and iż-Żebbuġ.
While the main Carnival celebrations remain centred in Valletta and Floriana, this scheme ensures wider participation, allowing residents across Malta and Gozo to enjoy Carnival festivities closer to home.
