There’s good news for those planning to ring in the New Year on the streets of Valletta, with no bad weather expected to disrupt tonight’s festivities.

GuideMeMalta spoke to Jason Micallef, chairman of the Valletta Cultural Agency, which is organising the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

He said he received a weather update from the Met Office earlier this morning and was told that no thunderstorms, hail or rain are forecast for tonight.

“There might be some rain in the afternoon, but it looks like it will clear up by tonight, although it will be cold,” he said. “The show will go on, come what may.”

The show will run from 8:45pm to 2am and will feature British singer John Newman, alongside several local artists, including Miriana Conte, Gaia, Denise, Karin Duff, Keith Zammit Mintoff, Aidan Drakard, Klinsmann, and the Palace String Orchestra,

It will be hosted by Jamie Cardona, Taryn Mamo Cefai and Ron Briffa.
