Clear skies ahead but will they last? Malta awaits a wetter end to January
Sunny weather over the next few days!

According to an update issued by Maltese Islands Weather, the coming days are set to bring a welcome spell of settled conditions across the islands.

Over the next few days, weather is expected to remain generally clear and dry, offering a brief pause from the unsettled patterns experienced last weekend.

Residents can look forward to stable conditions ideal for outdoor activities, with no significant rainfall forecast during this period. Mild winter sunshine and calm weather are expected to dominate, providing a short-lived but appreciated break for both commuters and those working outdoors.

However, this dry stretch is not expected to last indefinitely. Rain is likely to make a return on Saturday 17th or Sunday, 18th January, marking a shift towards more changeable conditions. Long-term weather models indicate that the final two weeks of January could be dotted with several rainy days, suggesting a more typical winter pattern may gradually reassert itself.

This outlook brings cautious optimism, particularly in terms of rainfall totals. After a period of concern regarding water scarcity and below-average precipitation, there is hope that January may still conclude on a positive note for rainfall levels. Such an outcome would be beneficial for groundwater replenishment and agriculture, both of which rely heavily on consistent winter rains.

Are you excited for more rainfall this January?
