A ray of hope has shined on family-run Marsalforn eatery Ristorante Arzella after a particularly difficult month…

Last October, owner Christian Grech was admitted to the ITU after suffering grievous injuries as a result of a motorcycle accident.

The accident prompted Ristorante Arzella to close its doors to customers for around three weeks – from 20th October up until today, 12th November.

Ristorante Arzella took to social media to announce its re-opening and some very good news.

“Our reopening is particularly poignant while our beloved Christian recovers in hospital,” the restaurant wrote.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with him as we do our best to honour him by continuing to serve all the clients he knows and loves. Join us to celebrate the man behind Ristorante Arzella’s success from today. Cheers to Chris,” it concluded.

Tens of regular customers took to the post’s comments section to celebrate the good news and wish Chris a speedy recovery.

“Best of luck! Always in our prayers Christian,” wrote one commenter.

“My favourite restaurant in Gozo! Can’t wait to be back,” added another.

Get well soon, Chris!
