From yellow to amber! Heat warning issued as 'feels like' temperatures set to climb to 41°C
It’s looking like another hot weekend ahead!

The Public Service has upgraded its weather warning from yellow to amber as Malta braces for an intensifying heatwave over the coming days.

According to the latest forecast, 'feels like' temperatures are expected to soar to 41°C by next Saturday, with the oppressive conditions forecast to continue throughout the weekend and into the following week.

The higher warning level reflects the increased health risks associated with prolonged exposure to extreme heat, particularly for vulnerable groups such as young children, older adults and those with underlying medical conditions.

Authorities are urging the public to take extra precautions while enjoying the summer weather. Residents and visitors are advised to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during the hottest part of the day, typically between late morning and mid-afternoon, wear lightweight clothing and sunscreen, and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Anyone spending extended periods outdoors is encouraged to seek shade whenever possible and watch for signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke.

Do you have any outdoor weekend plans?
