Charlie’s Inn, Malta’s iconic rabbit restaurant, to close its doors this September
The end of an era!

Francesca Vella

For decades, Charlie’s Inn has been a beloved spot for one of Malta’s most traditional dishes – the famous ‘fenkata’. Located at the start of the Coast Road in Salina, right by the Salina Catacombs, the family-run restaurant has welcomed generations of diners since 1920, with its hearty plates of rabbit and homely atmosphere.

But now, an era is coming to an end. GuideMeMalta.com has confirmed that Charlie’s Inn will officially close its doors on Tuesday 30th September, marking the end of a culinary chapter that has defined local dining for so many.

The owners shared their heartfelt thanks to all those who returned time and again over the years, helping make Charlie’s Inn not just a restaurant, but a gathering place where memories were made over shared plates of rabbit, pasta, and other flavours that just scream ‘Malta’.

Farewell and thank you for the delicious legacy!
