Calling all photography enthusiasts! Ritty Tacsum’s ‘Disclosure’ opens in Valletta this month
Starting on the 25th of July, the Art Galleries of the Malta Society of Arts in Valletta will be hosting Ritty Tacsum’s first solo photographic exhibition since 2019, titled 'Disclosure'. This collection features 17 works inspired by online anonymous contributions, expressing the participants’ deepest thoughts, fears and desires.
The confessions the artist received were formed into ‘tableaux’, motionless scenes represented by models, from which the artist created the photographic works to be displayed at the exhibition.
Ritty Tacsum has expressed enthusiasm at the collaborative element of this project, claiming that this exhibition “will be a unique opportunity for visitors to take a peek into the minds and hearts of a generous group of people who chose to confess.”
‘Disclosure’ is curated by Lisa Gwen, whose working relationship with Ritty Tacsum spans the past 13 years, beginning with her curating the artist’s first-ever exhibition ‘Ritty Tacsum and her Humanoids’ in 2011.
