Bonnie Tyler’s sudden emergency surgery means she has been forced to cancel her upcoming concert at the Summer Lust Music Festival in Ħal Għaxaq.

However, Għaxaq Music Events have acted fast, confirming German synth-pop band Alphaville as a replacement headliner for the event on Friday, 22nd May.

Renowned for 80s anthems like Forever Young, Big in Japan and Sounds Like a Melody, Alphaville will bring their full band show to Malta as part of their 2026 international tour.

"We are incredibly grateful to Alphaville for stepping in at such short notice, and our thoughts and best wishes for a speedy recovery remain with Bonnie Tyler.”

Alphaville will be supported by Glen Vella and his band, while Gaia and Matt Black will also perform. Project are the opening act and DJ Sue will close the night.

General entrance is against donation in aid for Dar Bjorn while those who opt for VIP or seated tickets are to visit www.showshappening.com.

Bonnie Tyler concert ticket holders are to visit Summerlust Music Festival Facebook page, where they can opt to exchange their tickets for the Alphaville concert, exchange them for Kim Wilde’s concert on 15th May or opt for a refund. However, booking fees aren’t included in the refund.
