Visitors are guided through a historical journey charting the evolution of Maltese Carnival over the years. The exhibition features dedicated sections exploring the intricate art of costume design and the craftsmanship behind Carnival floats. Information is also provided on some of Carnival’s traditions, like the Qarċilla and the prinjolata, as well as children’s games and time-honoured festive customs.

Beyond the visual impact, the exhibition also celebrates the countless hours of dedication invested by volunteers who painstakingly craft Carnival floats and costumes each year. Their passion and creativity remain at the core of the tradition, transforming sketches and raw materials into breathtaking works of art.

The exhibition will remain open at the European Parliament in Brussels throughout this week, offering Members of Parliament, officials and visitors a unique insight into one of Malta’s most colourful cultural expressions.

Will you be there to see it?
