Attention racing fans! Will Hal Far be home to Malta’s first proper race track?
Is this good news for adrenaline junkies?

Race track enthusiasts may soon have a legit track to get their need for speed met, if this proposal by a local architecture firm is taken up. Periti Studio has taken the initiative to design a race track in the Hal Far industrial estate, in the south of Malta, and it looks a little something like this.

The proposed track is 2km long, and is suited to both cars and motorbikes, which will share facilities with the already existing quarter mile race track in the vicinity. The track includes runoff areas (safe zones) at the corners with a proposed runoff in gravel, and soft landscaping respectively. And most importantly, the proposed track is to be located away from ODZ areas and residential plots - nice one Periti Studio!

If the proposed track ever materialises, adrenaline junkies will have the opportunity to race in a safe space, which has been a bone of contention among local racing fans over the years.
