We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but try not to get your knickers in a frustrated twist about what we’re about to say! You’re may have to plan different routes to get home folks, because these major roads will be closed from today right up until Friday.

Infrastructure Malta posted to Facebook warning drivers that various roads will be closed at different times of the day. First up are the northbound lanes of Buqana Road from Mtarfa to Mosta. These lanes were closed from 6am this morning and will remain so until Friday at 6am due to asphalt laying. Alternative routes from Attard and Ta’ Qali have been proposed.

If you’ve passed from San Gwann lately, you would have definitely noticed the roadworks currently taking place at Ir-Rihan Avenue (between Tal-Balal Road and the roundabout at Bellavista Road). The road is closed between 7pm and 5.30am every day until Friday night in order to complete the reconstruction of part of the road.

Southbound lanes will be closed tonight for asphalt works, with the “northbound carriageway will be closed later at night on Wednesday, and all night on Thursday and Friday,” Infrastructure Malta notes.
