Attention commuters! Here are the traffic and bus route diversions in St Paul's Bay this weekend
If you're planning to travel around St Paul’s Bay this coming weekend, here are some important things to take note of.
Friday 25th April and Saturday 26th April
On these two days there will be some temporary road closures and diversions affecting several bus routes.
From 09:30 AM to 4:30 PM on both days, a part of Triq San Pawl (the main road passing through St Paul’s Bay centre) will be temporarily closed to traffic due to ongoing works. As a result, several bus routes towards Valletta will experience diversions - here’s how your travel plans might be impacted:
- Routes affected: 41, 42, 49, 221, 222, 223, 225, 250, X1A
- Diversion details: Buses traveling towards Valletta from Mellieħa or Golden Bay will be diverted from St Paul’s Bay Bypass and will not serve the St Paul’s Bay Centre.
- Note that there will be no diversions on buses traveling northbound back towards St Paul’s Bay.

Sunday 27th April
On Sunday, 27th April, there will be a race taking place along the St Paul’s Bay Bypass between 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM. During this time, the Bypass will be temporarily closed to traffic. Commuters are encouraged to follow the directions of officials and use alternative routes - Triq San Pawl will be open for traffic on this day. If you're travelling to or from Ċirkewwa at this time, you might consider using the route via Manikata and Mġarr.
All drivers are urged to follow signage and to drive with particular care in these areas.
