Many are that love building cribs around Christmas time, but none quite enjoy it as much as Mark, who builds cribs all year round, not just during the festive period.

“I always have a crib; from January to December. In my opinion, the crib should be present in the home all year round. That is what I do. I find the significance of family in the crib”, Mark revealed during an interview with ‘The People of Malta’.

“I come here to the garage after work every day to work and build. Apart from its significance, this is my relaxation”.

Mark revealed that when he was younger, he used to work with jablo and chalk cribs after coming back from school and he has been in love with the art ever since.

He is also hoping to pass on his love of crib-making to the next generation. Mark has three children and two of them are even showing interest.

“I am ready to teach this craft to others. In fact, I work in conjunction with a number of local councils teaching the art of crib making”.

Mark is one of the members of a crib-making association of Ghajnsielem and this year alone, they’re planning on putting up an exhibition with 25 cribs.

“Interest in cribs is on the rise again and that is a good sign”.

Well done Mark!
