A stamp of remembrance! MaltaPost issues commemorative stamp honouring the late Pope Francis
A worthy tribute!

Francesca Vella

As Malta joins the global Catholic community in mourning the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, MaltaPost is paying tribute in a special way – with the release of a commemorative stamp celebrating the life and legacy of the beloved pontiff.

The release of this stamp will take place on the same day Malta observes a national day of mourning, on Saturday 26th April, coinciding with the funeral of the late Pope. The stamp features a dignified portrait of Pope Francis, whose papacy was marked by humility, compassion, and a call for unity and care for the most vulnerable.

Whether you’re a philatelist or simply wish to hold onto a meaningful keepsake from this historic moment, this special issue serves as a timeless symbol of reverence and remembrance. The collection will be available online and in all post offices in Malta and Gozo.
